Programming NotesAs many of you have noticed, we have switched gears in our Strength classes. We are in the middle of a cycle, geared to take us towards our one rep maxes at the beginning of December. As we move further in this cycle, we will climb up to 95% of our theoretical one rep maxes. Make sure to take extra time with some recovery practices, whether that be foam rolling, stretching, or even just taking an Epsom salt bath. In our Conditioning classes we are focusing the beginning of the week on body weight circuits, while we continue our viking snatch protocol on Wednesday/Thursday. That 15 second work/15 second rest viking protocol will help ensure we have some of the smoothest snatches in Fort Worth! Make sure to take care of your hands, to keep callouses from becoming a hindrance and possible tears. Member Spotlight: Jeanette Frank![]() How did you find BellHaus Fitness, and what was it that brought you here? I've known Matt for years now, and when he opened his own gym, I knew I had to check it out! Excluding everyone's favorite Colombian pop singer, Shakira, what type of music gets you amped up during your workouts? I'm obsessed with Jason Mraz, The Lumineers, and mostly singer-songwriter type music. I know it's not the typical "amp you up" type music, but truth be told, I don't listen to music much while working out since I'm either trying not to wake a sleeping baby or catching up with a friend during my workouts. What movement is your favorite when it shows up in a workout? Since I'm primarily a runner, I get excited to do squats because I feel the strongest in that movement! If someone sees a picture of you on social media, they might not even realize you had a baby about 8 weeks ago! What was it like working out almost up until the week before giving birth? It definitely gets harder since you are limited by your body (and belly!), even though sometimes you feel like you could do more. What kept me motivated was knowing that there were modifications I could do with every movement and that it only would get harder once the baby was born! What else do you get up to when not sweating it out in the gym? Running, of course! I also enjoy keeping it balanced with spin or yoga. Although, finding the time to do it all with two boys under two is proving to be a bit of a challenge at times! BHF Gives Back: Movember![]() In case you have somehow missed it, though that seems pretty improbable, Coach Matt has followed through with his promise and is rocking the "Swanson" mustache for the month of November as part of Movember. What is Movember, you ask? It is an annual event where men rock a mustache during the month of November in order to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. Thank you to everyone that participated and donated during the process of 'mo selection last month. However, we have it on good account that his girlfriend, Lauren, may have made a hefty donation at the last minute to avoid the "'Mo?'" stache from winning out before having to take him home for the holidays. But a donation is a donation! We are continuing to accept donations throughout the month, so be sure to honor the greatness of the 'mo and support Coach Matt! Articles We Recommend
